About
Swift Creek Campground is a small 7-site facility located approximately 2 miles from Afton, Wyoming, in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The campground sits at the base of the Salt River Range along Swift Creek, offering shaded campsites in a forested mountain setting. Historically, the campground provided basic amenities including vault toilets, a single water faucet at site 1, fire rings, and large picnic tables suitable for family groups. The campground operated on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. Access to the campground is via US Highway 89, then East 2nd Avenue which becomes Swift Creek Road (Forest Service Road 10211) after entering the national forest. The site is managed by the Greys River Ranger District and was known for its light usage levels and proximity to Swift Creek Trail, which provides access to hiking and fishing opportunities in the canyon.
Directions
From Afton, Wyoming, head north on US Highway 89, then turn right onto East 2nd Avenue. Follow for approximately one mile into the Bridger-Teton National Forest, where the road becomes Swift Creek Road (Forest Service Road 10211). Continue 0.4 miles and the campground access is on the right. Total distance from Afton is approximately 2 miles.
