Rocky Peak Campground

About

Rocky Peak Campground occupies a scenic pinyon-juniper forest within the Three Peaks Recreation Area, a 6,000+ acre BLM Special Recreation Management Area located 10 miles north of Cedar City, Utah. Ancient volcanic activity shaped the surrounding terrain, leaving granite boulders scattered throughout the campground with views of the Hurricane Cliffs range rising above Cedar City. The campground features 10 standard nonelectric sites and 2 group sites, all with picnic tables and fire rings with grill grates. Vault toilets are nearby. No potable water is available at the campground, though water can be found at nearby trailheads. Group sites include pavilions with multiple tables and oversized fire rings, accommodating up to 50 people and vehicles up to 99 feet. Three Peaks Recreation Area caters to diverse outdoor interests: hiking and mountain biking trails depart from the campground, while the broader area includes equestrian and OHV trailheads, two disc golf courses, a remote-controlled car track, model airplane runway, paintball complex, and shooting range. The campground is roughly one hour from Zion National Park and 90 minutes from Bryce Canyon.

Directions

From Cedar City, take Main Street (UT-130) north and take the third exit in the roundabout onto Midvalley Road. After 6 miles on Midvalley Road, continue straight through Three Peaks Recreation Area. The campground is on the left shortly after the road transitions from pavement to dirt.
