About

Falls Creek Campground occupies a prime location on the south shore of Lake Quinault, where crystal-clear Falls Creek meets the glacially carved lake. The temperate rainforest setting provides dense shade from towering conifers including Sitka spruce, Douglas fir, western hemlock, and western red cedar, while the forest floor features lush moss, ferns, false lily-of-the-valley, and oxalis. The forested slopes of Olympic National Park create a dramatic backdrop across the lake. The campground offers 21 standard campsites accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs up to 16 feet, plus 10 walk-in tent sites. Facilities include a potable water system and barrier-free flush toilets. A large covered picnic shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s serves groups and families, and three day-use picnic sites line the shoreline. The Quinault National Recreation Trail System is accessible from the campground, with 10 miles of hiking trails and numerous waterfalls within walking distance. Lake Quinault Lodge, a short walk along the lakeshore, offers restaurants, gift shops, and boat/kayak rentals. Fishing and boating on Lake Quinault require permits from the Quinault Indian Nation, available through local merchants. Mandatory boat inspections are required before watercraft entry.
