The campground is currently closed for the season. Peak season typically runs Memorial Day through Labor Day. Off-season availability is weather dependent. Sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations.

Elevated particulate levels from wildfire smoke As of 6AM on 08/03/2026, particulate levels in Billings, Columbia Falls, Frenchtown, Lewistown, Libby, Missoula and Thompson Falls are Unhealthy. As of 6AM on 08/03/2026, particulate levels in Butte are Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. As of 6AM on 08/03/2026, particulate levels in Dillon, Great Falls, Hamilton, Helena, Malta and Sleeping Giant are Moderate. When air quality is Unhealthy... About
Three Frogs Campground sits within the Lake Como Recreation Area in Montana's Bitterroot National Forest, between Darby and Hamilton. The recently reconstructed facility features 16 trailer spurs accommodating units up to 30 feet and 4 walk-in tent sites. All sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with some equipped with tent pads. Accessible vault toilets and potable water are available near the entrance and camp host. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Lake Como provides exceptional recreation opportunities including a designated swimming beach, motorized boat launch, and access to the Lake Como National Recreation Trail for hiking and biking. Fishing and kayaking are popular activities on the lake. Campers must follow food storage requirements from March 1 through December 1. Pets are allowed but must remain leashed and are prohibited on the beach and swim area. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. A day use pass is included with overnight camping fees.
Directions
From Darby, MT travel north 4 miles on Highway 93. Turn west (left) onto Lake Como Road. Follow for 3 miles, then turn north (right) to remain on Lake Como Road. Follow for 0.7 miles, turn left, then an immediate right toward the beach area. Continue 0.5 miles until the road becomes the upper campground loop.
