About

Rock Creek Horse Camp is a purpose-built equestrian campground within the Lake Como Recreation Area of the Bitterroot National Forest. The facility features 11 campsites, four of which are pull-through, with sites 1A, 1B, 9A, and 9B reserved exclusively for stock use. Stock facilities include hitch rails, a loading ramp, and feed bunks. The campground can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet in length on gravel-surfaced roads. Amenities include accessible vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and garbage service. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. From the campground, the Rock Creek Trailhead provides access to the Lake Como Recreation Trail circling the lake and the Rock Creek Trail heading west into the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. Camping is first-come, first-served at $12 per night with a maximum stay of 16 consecutive days. A day-use pass is required at Lake Como Recreation Area from Memorial Day through Labor Day and is included with overnight camping fees. Pets must be leashed, weed-free forage is mandatory, and food storage requirements are in effect from March 1 through December 1.
