About
Wish Poosh Campground sits near the southeastern shore of Cle Elum Lake in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest at an elevation of 2,300 feet. This popular campground offers 34 sites in a mixed conifer forest setting, all equipped with picnic tables and fire rings with grills. The campground accommodates both tent and RV camping, though no hookups are available. The nearby Speelyi Beach provides a wide sandy beach area for swimming and kayaking on Cle Elum Lake. Recreational opportunities abound in the area, including fishing in Cle Elum Lake, hiking on trails within 5 miles of the campground, mountain biking, horseback riding, and access to the spectacular Pacific Crest Trail. Note that Cle Elum Lake is an irrigation reservoir serving agriculture in the lower valleys, so water levels vary significantly and typically drop rapidly in early summer. The boat ramp usually closes by mid to late July depending on drawdown. The surrounding Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest features stunning alpine peaks, old growth valleys, and diverse wildlife including deer, porcupine, and migratory birds. The campground operates seasonally from late May through mid-September. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, though some first-come, first-served sites may be available. Payment is cash or check only at the campground for site fees and extra vehicle charges.
Directions
From Seattle, take I-90 East to exit 80, then take a left on Bullfrog Road, then head north on County Road 903. The campground is on the left after approximately 8 miles.
