About

McCain Guard Station is a historic rustic cabin constructed in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, nestled in a mountain valley at 6,900 feet elevation near a creek that flows into Little Greys River. The cabin accommodates up to 8 overnight guests on 4 bunk beds with mattresses provided. The two-room dwelling features a propane heater, woodstove, propane cook top, and propane lighting. Winter access is by snowmobile only on groomed trails, while spring and fall access is weather-dependent. Guests must bring their own water, sleeping bags, pillows, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
