Julian Price Campground
Closed — Closed for the winter season. Typically reopens in May. The 2025 season saw limited operations with only Loop A open starting August 15 due to ongoing repairs from Hurricane Helene damage, including water system work and debris removal.
Special Weather Statement issued March 28 at 7:55AM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA
The combination of dry fine fuels, relative humidities between 15 and 25 percent, and northwest winds gusting up to 25 mph will result in an increased risk for the rapid spread of wildfires during Saturday afternoon. Everyone is urged to properly dispose of cigarette butts, matches, and any other flammable items in appropriate containers. Additionally, exercise caution if operating any equipment that could create sparks, and keep vehicles off of dry grass. Most dry grasses, dead leaves, and other tree litter could easily ignite and spread fire quickly. Lastly, remember to obey local burn bans. For more information about wildfire danger, burn restrictions, and wildfire prevention and education, please visit your state forestry or environmental protection website.
