About
White Horse Lake is an extremely popular fishing destination located 19 miles southeast of Williams in northern Arizona's Kaibab National Forest. The campground sits at 6,600 feet elevation, surrounded by ponderosa pine forest with abundant wildlife including deer and elk. Anglers target Largemouth Bass, Crappie, and Bluegill, and a small paved boat ramp accommodates watercraft with electric motors up to 10 HP. The campground offers 94 single-unit sites with picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and tent pads, plus 10 double sites and a large group site accommodating up to 60 people. Sites can handle tents, trailers, and motorhomes up to 38 feet. Twenty-two sites are wheelchair accessible. Approximately half of sites are reservable via Recreation.gov while the remainder are first-come, first-served. Summer temperatures range from 50°F at night to 80-90°F during the day. Monsoon thunderstorms are common in July and August. The Bear Shack on-site provides beverages and snacks. Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim is just over an hour north, making this an excellent base camp for exploring the region.
