About

Pines Group Campground offers a secluded tent-only group camping experience in Stanislaus National Forest, positioned just 15 miles from the Yosemite National Park boundary. The campground sits at 3,200 feet elevation in a tranquil mixed conifer forest, providing an ideal base camp for exploring both Yosemite and the surrounding wilderness areas including Carson-Iceberg, Emigrant, and Mokelumne Wildernesses. The single group site accommodates up to 50 people and includes picnic tables, bear boxes for food storage, and campfire pits with grills. Vault toilets are available, and potable water is provided during the operating season. The adjacent Little Golden Forest Trail offers easy hiking with a half-mile interpretive loop and optional two-mile extension. Winter sports enthusiasts can access Dodge Ridge, Bear Valley, and Badger Pass Ski Areas from the campground. The nearby Tuolumne River provides opportunities for wading and fishing. Firewood must be purchased locally, and all food must be stored properly in bear boxes or vehicles.
