About

Taneum Cabin is a small four-room Forest Service rental cabin located approximately 20 miles west of Ellensburg in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Nestled along Taneum Creek at 2,400 feet elevation, the cabin sits in a quiet, secluded area surrounded by ponderosa pine and cottonwood trees. The cabin is accessible by car and provides many comforts of home while maintaining a rustic atmosphere. The cabin features four rooms: a bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. Running water is available inside the cabin, and propane is provided for cooking, operating the refrigerator, and heating water. Battery-operated lanterns provide lighting. Outside, guests will find a fire ring and picnic table. The cabin accommodates up to 4 guests and is available from Memorial Day through Labor Day at $100 per night. The location offers prime access to hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and mountain biking trails. Off-road vehicles, particularly motorbikes, share nearby trails with hikers and mountain bikers. Anglers can cast a line into Taneum Creek, which provides good opportunities for catching fair-sized trout in June and July. A small campground is located just up the road, less than a quarter mile from the cabin. The area is home to abundant wildlife including deer, squirrels, and migratory birds.
