About

Narrows Campground is located above scenic New Fork Lake in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, at the edge of Wyoming's Wind River Range. Set in a dense grove of aspens at 7,800 feet elevation, the campground offers plentiful shade and most sites afford views of the lake below. Summer wildflowers carpet the area and wildlife is abundant. The 19 single-family campsites include picnic tables and fire rings. Two vault toilets serve the campground, and a host is on-site during the season. There is no potable water and no trash service, so campers must bring water and pack out all garbage. Food storage is required per Forest Service regulations. New Fork Trail begins at the campground entrance and provides backcountry access through New Fork Canyon into the Bridger Wilderness, connecting with several other trails in the area. Horse corrals are located at the trailhead. A large cement boat ramp sits less than one mile from the campground, and New Fork Lake offers excellent fishing for kokanee salmon, brook, lake, and rainbow trout. Pinedale, the nearest full-service community, is 26 miles away.

Directions

From Pinedale, take U.S. Highway 191 northwest for 6 miles. Turn north onto State Highway 352 and travel just over 14 miles. Turn east onto New Fork Lake Road (gravel) and travel 5 miles to the campground. The road is suitable for two-wheel drive but is rough and conditions vary with weather.
