About
Trails End Campground sits at high elevation in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, approximately 30 minutes from Pinedale via paved Skyline Drive. This primitive campground serves as a convenient base for exploring the Bridger Wilderness, located just beyond the Elkhart-Pole Creek Trailhead. The facility offers basic amenities including picnic tables, fire rings, and paved parking pads at each site, with vault toilets available but no potable water on-site. Several sites feature corrals for visitors traveling with stock animals, making this a popular choice for horsepacking trips into the wilderness. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Due to the high elevation location, the season is limited to summer months when snow has cleared from the access roads. Proper food storage is mandatory as this is active bear country. Campers should be prepared for primitive conditions and bring all necessary supplies, including water treatment capabilities to purify water from nearby natural sources. The campground's proximity to major trailheads makes it ideal for backpackers and wilderness enthusiasts looking for early morning trail access.
