About

New Fork Lake Group Campground is a single large group site situated in a grassy meadow surrounded by lodgepole pine trees in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Located 24 miles north of Pinedale, Wyoming, the campground can accommodate gatherings of up to 150 people. The informal layout with no traditional defined parking area makes it well-suited for family reunions and large group camping. The site includes a double vault toilet, large picnic and serving tables, BBQ stands, and a fire ring. There is no potable water available, so all campers must bring an adequate water supply. Proper food storage is required due to bear activity in the area. Garbage service is located just outside the group site. New Fork Lake, covering 1,070 acres, is a short hike from the campground and offers excellent boating, canoeing, swimming, and fishing for kokanee salmon, brook, lake, and rainbow trout. A cement boat ramp is located about 1.5 miles away at the lake's northwestern shore. The New Fork Trail, accessible from nearby Narrows Campground (2.5 miles away), provides backcountry access into the Bridger Wilderness.

Directions

From Pinedale, head west on US-191 for 6 miles, then turn right onto WY-352 toward Cora. Follow WY-352 for about 14.4 miles, bear right at the fork onto New Fork Lake Road/CR-162. Follow CR-162 for about 3 miles until it becomes FS-370730 upon entering the national forest. Continue less than a mile, staying left at the fork. The campground is on the left. Approximately 24 miles and 36 minutes from Pinedale.
