About

Fremont Lake Campground occupies a forested hillside on the east shore of Fremont Lake, a pristine glacial lake at the foot of the Wind River Range. At 7,400 feet elevation and just 7 miles northeast of Pinedale, Wyoming, the campground offers easy access while maintaining a backcountry feel. Aspen, Douglas fir, juniper, and dense understory vegetation provide shade and privacy between sites, though most sites do not have direct lake views. The campground features 44 single sites, 4 double sites, and 1 group site accommodating up to 50 people. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring with grill. Vault toilets and potable water are available throughout. A boat ramp and dock on-site provide direct access to the lake for anglers pursuing lake trout, rainbow trout, brown trout, and kokanee salmon. Swimming, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking, and sailing are popular activities. Food storage is required throughout the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Firewood should be obtained locally to prevent spread of invasive species. The nearby Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale features Rocky Mountain fur trade era artifacts and local history exhibits.
