About
Fremont Lake Campground is located on the east shore of pristine Fremont Lake at an elevation of 7,400 feet, just 7 miles northeast of Pinedale, Wyoming. The campground sits at the foot of the rugged Wind River Range, known for its craggy granite peaks and sparkling glacial lakes. The 11-mile-long lake is Wyoming's second-largest natural lake and offers exceptional water-based recreation. The campground features 44 single sites, 4 double sites, and 1 group site accommodating up to 50 people. Sites are situated on a forested hillside above the lake, with aspen, Douglas fir, juniper and dense understory providing shade and privacy. Most sites do not have direct lake views. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. An on-site boat ramp and dock provide lake access. Anglers enjoy fishing for lake trout, rainbow trout, brown trout, and kokanee salmon. The lake is popular for boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, and swimming. During peak season, two campground hosts are available for information and assistance. The Museum of the Mountain Man in nearby Pinedale features Rocky Mountain fur trade era artifacts and American Indian exhibits.
