About
New Fork Lake Campground is a primitive, lakeside camping destination located on the shore of the 1,070-acre New Fork Lake in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Set among a beautiful grove of aspen trees, the campground offers direct access to a sandy beach that provides swimming and recreation opportunities for the whole family. The lake is renowned for its diverse fishing, with anglers targeting kokanee salmon, brook trout, lake trout, and rainbow trout through various methods including wade fishing, shore fishing, fly fishing, spin casting, and ice fishing in winter months. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations, making it ideal for spontaneous trips. A boat ramp located approximately 1.5 miles from the campground on the northwestern shore provides easy access for motorized and non-motorized watercraft. The setting offers excellent opportunities for boating, canoeing, wildlife viewing, mountain biking, and day hiking. As a primitive facility, campers should come prepared. The campground does not provide potable water, so visitors must bring their own or be prepared to treat or filter water from nearby sources. Vault toilets are available on-site. The unpaved access road is suitable for passenger cars. Food storage regulations are strictly enforced due to bear activity in the area. Located approximately 24 miles and 36 minutes from the town of Pinedale, the campground provides a peaceful mountain lake experience with moderate use levels.
