About

The Narrows Campground occupies a scenic position on the shores of New Fork Lake at the edge of the Wind River Range. At 7,800 feet elevation, the campground is tucked into a dense aspen grove that provides ample shade and partial lake views from most sites. The 19 single-family campsites each have a picnic table and fire ring, with two vault toilets serving the loop. This is a primitive campground with no potable water, hookups, or trash service. Campers must bring drinking water or filter from the lake and pack out all garbage. The unpaved access road and narrow turnarounds make this campground unsuitable for large RVs and trailers. Bear-resistant food storage is required throughout the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The New Fork Trail begins at the campground entrance, providing direct access into the Bridger Wilderness for hiking and horseback riding. Horse corrals are available at the trailhead. New Fork Lake offers fishing for kokanee salmon, brook trout, lake trout, and rainbow trout, plus boating and swimming.
