About
Wyeth Campground is located along the Deschutes River below Wickiup Reservoir in the Deschutes National Forest. This small campground provides direct access to what is considered the best population of stream-inhabiting German brown trout in Oregon. The river changes dramatically below Wickiup Dam, becoming a slow, meandering, powerful body of water that is highly accessible and easy to drift. The campground accommodates RVs and trailers with a maximum site spur length of 40 feet. A boat launch is available within the campground for both motorized and non-motorized watercraft, making it an ideal base for anglers and boaters. The facility includes vault toilets but no potable water, so campers should bring an adequate supply of drinking water. From Bend, the campground is accessed by heading south on Highway 97 for approximately 27 miles, then 8 miles west on County Road 43. The campground operates seasonally from mid-April through mid-October, with sites available by reservation through most of the season and first-come, first-served in October.
Directions
