About

Wright's Beach Campground is one of the most coveted camping destinations along California's Sonoma Coast, offering 27 developed campsites positioned directly adjacent to a beautiful sandy beach. Ten sites feature direct Pacific Ocean views, while all sites are within steps of the shoreline. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and paved parking spur. The campground provides flush toilets and running water in the restrooms, but no showers. Registered campers receive complimentary access to token-operated hot showers at Bodega Dunes Campground, located approximately 5 miles south, which also has a potable water fill station and dump station. The campground is situated along scenic Highway 1 between Bodega Bay and Jenner, providing easy access to miles of dramatic coastline, rocky headlands, tidepools, and beaches. Wright's Beach itself is one of the largest sandy beaches in the area, ideal for beachcombing, fishing, and picnicking. The rugged Sonoma coastline features powerful surf and unpredictable waves, making swimming dangerous. Visitors should exercise caution near the water and never turn their backs to the ocean. Dogs are permitted on leash at Wright's Beach and in the campground. The weather can be variable with summer fog that typically burns off by midday, so layered clothing is recommended.
