Woodside Campground at Salt Point State Park offers 79 family campsites arranged in upper and lower loops on the east side of Highway 1. The campground provides a more sheltered alternative to the coastal Gerstle Cove Campground, with forested sites offering protection from ocean winds. Sites include fire rings, picnic tables, and food lockers. The campground serves as a base for exploring the park's diverse landscapes, from rugged coastline and kelp-dotted coves to pygmy forests and open prairies. Salt Point State Park encompasses six miles of the Sonoma Coast with over 20 miles of hiking trails, ranging from coastal bluffs to inland forests. The park features an underwater reserve popular with divers, rocky promontories, and sandstone formations. Wildlife includes blacktail deer, raccoons, coyotes, and various water birds. The campground provides drinking water and flush toilets but no showers or hookups. The park is located approximately 90 miles north of San Francisco, with the nearest services in Jenner (18 miles south) or Gualala (18 miles north).
