Bodega Dunes Campground is the most fully-equipped camping facility in Sonoma Coast State Park, offering 99 developed campsites situated among coastal sand dunes just inland from the Pacific Ocean. The campground provides modern amenities including token-operated hot showers, flush toilets, potable water filling station, and an RV dump station that also serves nearby Wright's Beach Campground. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring with paved parking spurs. Maximum occupancy is 8 people per site. The campground features excellent access to five miles of dune trail systems, and the day use area includes a boardwalk that overlooks classic sandy beaches. The location provides opportunities for beachcombing, hiking, and wildlife viewing within one of California's most scenic coastal state parks. Dogs are allowed in the campground but prohibited on Bodega Dunes Beach due to protection of the federally threatened Western Snowy Plover. Horses and riders can access the trail system through the back side of the campground via Bay Flat Road. Bodega Dunes accommodates RVs and trailers up to 31 feet in length, though no hookups are available. A communal hike and bike site is available at sites 82 and 83 for cyclists and hikers traveling without vehicles. The campground is located within easy reach of spectacular coastal scenery, tide pools, and whale watching opportunities along the 17-mile stretch of Sonoma Coast State Park.

Directions

From downtown Bodega Bay, proceed north on Highway 1 for approximately one mile. The campground entrance will be on the left side of the highway.
