About
Wood River Campground occupies a heavily forested setting on the banks of the Big Wood River at 6,400 feet elevation within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Located 10 miles north of Ketchum on Highway 75, the campground offers 30 single campsites including one double site, all available on a first-come, first-served basis. Both tent campers and RVs are welcome. The campground provides flush toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. An amphitheater with electricity and wooden benches sits a short walk from the sites, hosting ranger programs and group events. The Big Wood River running through the campground offers excellent fishing and tubing opportunities. Nearby, the 20-mile Harriman Trail provides hiking and biking access, with spur trails leading to deep canyons, alpine lakes, and high-country fishing. The Wood River Group Overnight Area within the campground can accommodate up to 150 people and is reservable through Recreation.gov.
Directions
From Ketchum, drive north 10 miles on Highway 75 past the Sawtooth National Recreation Area Headquarters. The campground is the second campground on the south side of the highway.
