About
East Fork Baker Creek Campground is a small, primitive campground nestled along the East Fork of Baker Creek within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The campground offers 7 first-come, first-served campsites with basic amenities including vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring the surrounding wilderness. The Baker Creek trailhead provides access to hiking trails including Baker Lake Trail No. 138, which leads to a pristine alpine lake in under 2 miles. Fishing opportunities are available in Baker Creek, and the area welcomes horse and pack animals for backcountry exploration. This is a no-fee campground with no reservation system, making it ideal for spontaneous trips into the Sawtooth backcountry. The remote setting accessed via Forest Road 162 offers a quiet alternative to more developed campgrounds in the area.
