About

Wolcott Campground is a Bureau of Land Management facility situated along the scenic Eagle River, readily accessible from Interstate Highway 70 near the town of Wolcott. Located just east of the picturesque Red Canyon, the campground provides convenient access to the river for fishing and boating enthusiasts, with an on-site boat ramp available for public use. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system. Each campsite can accommodate up to nine people, two vehicles, and two tents, making it suitable for family groups or small gatherings. The facility includes vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site. Campers should be aware that the campground's proximity to I-70 means some highway noise is present. Seasonal operations run from mid-May through mid-November annually. Day use is also available for visitors who wish to access the Eagle River and boat ramp without camping overnight. The campground provides an economical camping option in the Eagle River valley, particularly for travelers exploring the scenic Colorado mountains or stopping along the I-70 corridor.
