About

Willow Creek Campground offers a peaceful retreat along Highway 139 in the Big Valley Ranger District of Modoc National Forest. This small campground features just 8 sites spread along a single paved road with a turnaround, making it easy to navigate with small trailers and motorhomes. The campground is known for its light use and availability, with sites rarely full. Shade trees throughout the campground provide cover and help muffle sounds from the nearby highway. A small creek runs between the campground and the adjacent day-use picnic area, adding to the natural setting. The low elevation allows for an earlier opening season compared to higher elevation campgrounds in the forest. Campers should note that no potable water is available on-site, so bringing adequate drinking water is essential. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit and accepts America the Beautiful Senior and Access passes for half-price camping.

Directions

From Adin, go south on Highway 139 approximately 14 miles; the campground is on the left just past the picnic area. From Susanville, travel about 53 miles north on Highway 139.
