About

Lower Rush Creek Campground is a quiet, remote getaway in Modoc National Forest's Big Valley Ranger District. The campground features 10 shady campsites situated along scenic Rush Creek, providing a peaceful setting for tent camping and smaller RVs. Sites are best suited for trailers under 22 feet due to size constraints. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees. Facilities are minimal, reflecting the campground's remote character. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water, trash service, or other amenities. Visitors must pack in all supplies and pack out all trash. Parking is limited to one vehicle per site. The campground is accessible via County Road 198 and Lower Rush Creek Road, approximately 8 miles north of Adin. Winter access can be challenging, as roads may become soft or impassable during inclement weather. The campground is subject to weather-dependent closures and is typically inaccessible during winter months. A 14-day stay limit applies. Dogs are permitted on leash, and owners must clean up after their pets.
