About

White Oak Creek Campground is situated on the shores of Walter F. George Lake on the Georgia-Alabama border, stretching 85 miles up the Chattahoochee River. The campground offers 129 campsites with electric and water hookups, providing a comfortable base for lake recreation. Modern amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, and three dump stations. A playground is available for children. The Chattahoochee River lakes are renowned for fishing, with abundant populations of largemouth bass, white bass, hybrids, crappie, channel catfish and bream. With 640 miles of shoreline, the lake offers excellent bank fishing opportunities, and a boat ramp is conveniently located nearby. Boating, swimming, water skiing and wildlife observation are popular activities. The surrounding lands are forested with dense stands of mixed hardwoods, supporting diverse wildlife including waterfowl, deer, squirrels, rabbits, eagles, hawks, bobcats and numerous songbird species. The historic town of Eufaula, Alabama is nearby, featuring more than 20 structures and districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including beautiful antebellum mansions. The campground is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and offers reservations through Recreation.gov. Gates are closed from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily.
