About

White Oak Creek Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility on Walter F. George Lake (also called Lake Eufaula), an 85-mile reservoir stretching up the Chattahoochee River on the Georgia-Alabama border. The campground provides 129 sites with electric and water hookups, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with grate. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, potable water, laundry, and three dump stations. A playground and open spaces accommodate younger campers. The gate closes nightly from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Firewood transport is prohibited; campers must purchase locally. The lake's 640 miles of shoreline offer prime fishing for largemouth bass, white bass, hybrids, crappie, channel catfish, and bream. Wildlife in the surrounding hardwood forests includes waterfowl, deer, eagles, hawks, and bobcats. The historic town of Eufaula, with its antebellum architecture and National Register sites, is nearby.
