About

Florence Marina State Park encompasses 173 acres at the northern end of 45,000-acre Lake Walter F. George, also known as Lake Eufaula, where the Chattahoochee River creates a natural deep-water marina. The park sits on land once home to Native Americans and the old town of Florence, offering a blend of history and outdoor recreation. The modern campground features 41 paved sites with full hookups and possible cable access, providing comfortable accommodations for RVers and tent campers. Water sports enthusiasts will find excellent facilities including a boat ramp, 66 marina slips for rent, a lighted fishing pier, and boat rentals. The lake is renowned for fishing, and the accessible pier makes it easy for anglers of all abilities to try their luck. Birders frequent the park for opportunities to see herons, egrets, and occasionally bald eagles along the shoreline and forested areas. The Kirbo Interpretive Center serves as an educational hub, featuring exhibits on local wildlife, plants, and history spanning from the prehistoric Paleo-Indian period through the early 20th century. The park also offers forested walking trails, miniature golf, playgrounds, and picnic facilities. Located just eight miles from Providence Canyon State Park, known as Georgia's Little Grand Canyon, Florence Marina makes an excellent base for exploring southwestern Georgia's natural attractions.
