About

George T. Bagby State Park sits on 770 acres along the shores of Lake Walter F. George (also known as Lake Eufaula) in southwest Georgia. The park recently completed major renovations that include a brand new 32-site campground with full hookups for RVs, a renovated visitor center, new comfort station with laundry facilities, and a camper amenity area featuring a renovated pool, tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. The 45,000-acre lake offers trophy fishing opportunities, including the state record catch for blue catfish, along with abundant bass and other southern freshwater fish. A boat ramp and swimming beach provide easy lake access. More than a mile of lighted pedestrian paths connect the campground with cottages along the lakeshore and wetlands, perfect for birdwatching and wildlife viewing. The park is home to alligators, deer, beaver, armadillo, river otter, gopher tortoises, eagles, osprey, and numerous songbirds. Additional amenities include the Meadow Links Golf Course offering championship golf year-round, the Phenomenon Trail for biking to Walter F. George Dam, picnic shelter, and amphitheater. The park is a full-service destination for anglers, birders, golfers, and campers in the lower Chattahoochee Valley.
