About

Hardridge Creek Campground occupies a scenic stretch of shoreline on Walter F. George Lake, an 85-mile impoundment of the Chattahoochee River straddling the Georgia-Alabama border. The Corps of Engineers facility caters to both tent campers and RV travelers, with 74 sites featuring paved driveways, picnic tables, and fire rings. Most sites include 30/50-amp electric and water hookups. The campground was recently upgraded and features two bathhouses with flush toilets and showers, laundry facilities, potable water, trash service, and a dump station. A boat ramp provides direct lake access for anglers targeting largemouth bass, white bass, hybrid stripers, crappie, channel catfish, and bream along the lake's 640 miles of shoreline. The surrounding mixed hardwood forests support abundant wildlife including deer, waterfowl, eagles, hawks, and songbirds. The historic town of Eufaula, with its antebellum mansions and National Register districts, lies nearby to the north.
