About

Hardridge Creek Campground is located on the shores of Walter F. George Lake, an 85-mile impoundment of the Chattahoochee River that straddles the Georgia-Alabama border. The recently upgraded campground features 74 sites, with 55 offering electric and water hookups. Buddy sites that accommodate up to 16 people each are available for larger groups. The campground provides modern amenities including flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, and a dump station. A boat ramp is conveniently located nearby for easy lake access. Walter F. George Lake, also known as Lake Eufaula, is renowned for its exceptional fishing opportunities, with anglers targeting largemouth bass, white bass, hybrids, crappie, channel catfish, and bream along its 640 miles of shoreline. The surrounding lands are forested with dense stands of mixed hardwoods and support diverse wildlife including waterfowl, white-tailed deer, squirrels, rabbits, bald eagles, hawks, bobcats, and numerous songbird species. The historic towns of Eufaula, Alabama and Cuthbert, Georgia are nearby, with Eufaula featuring more than 20 structures and districts on the National Register of Historic Places, including beautiful antebellum mansions.

Directions

From Eufaula, Alabama, take US 431 south. Turn left on SR-95, then turn left on CR-97 and continue for 10 miles. Follow signs into campground.
