About
East Bank Shelter is a group shelter facility at East Bank Park, located on the shores of Walter F. George Lake (also known as Lake Eufaula) in southwest Georgia. The shelter features electric hookup and can accommodate groups of up to 75 people for reunions, gatherings, or overnight stays. The park offers flush toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, a playground, and access to a boat ramp. Walter F. George Lake stretches 85 miles up the Chattahoochee River, providing excellent fishing for largemouth bass, white bass, hybrids, crappie, channel catfish, and bream. The surrounding forests of mixed hardwoods are home to diverse wildlife including waterfowl, deer, eagles, hawks, and songbirds. The historic towns of Eufaula, Alabama and Cuthbert, Georgia are nearby, offering antebellum architecture and sites on the National Register of Historic Places. Important restrictions include no alcoholic beverages, no swimming, no inflatable structures, and no DJ equipment or PA systems without written permission.
