About
Wells State Park encompasses 1,400 acres of woodland in the heart of central Massachusetts, positioned conveniently near Old Sturbridge Village and the city of Worcester. The campground offers 60 sites including one small group site and four ADA-accessible yurts that sleep 4-6 people with bunk beds, tables, chairs, and access to water and electricity. Many campsites are perched on a hillside adjacent to Walker Pond, providing scenic views. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table, pedestal grill, and fire ring. Accessible comfort stations located throughout the campground feature hot showers and flush toilets. Walker Pond offers a campers-only freshwater swimming beach, boat ramp, and fishing opportunities. Over 10 miles of hiking-only trails crisscross the property. A popular route leads to the scenic vista at Carpenter Rocks, offering views of the eastern section of the park and Walker Pond. Off-road vehicles are not permitted on trails.
