Rutland State Park encompasses 300 acres in central Massachusetts, providing a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities centered around Whitehall Pond and Long Pond. The park features a swimming beach at Whitehall Pond with adjacent picnic areas, making it a popular destination for day use during the warmer months. Visitors can explore hiking trails that connect to the broader trail network including the Midstate Trail, enjoy fishing in the ponds, or launch non-motorized boats from the boat ramp near the park office on Route 122. The park offers a reservable pavilion at Whitehall Pond equipped with eight picnic tables and a large charcoal grill, available for $65 per day. While the park provides excellent facilities for day recreation including swimming, picnicking, and trail access, it does not operate as a traditional overnight campground. The park is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and reservations for the pavilion can be made through ReserveAmerica.

Rutland State Park is located at 49 Whitehall Road, Rutland, MA 01543. From the center of Rutland, head east on Main Street, then turn left onto Whitehall Road. The park entrance will be on your right.
