Swimming beach typically operates Memorial Day through Labor Day. Reservations for the pavilion can be made through ReserveAmerica up to 4 months in advance.

Rutland State Park is a 300-acre day-use recreation area managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. Located in the Ware River Watershed region of Worcester County, the park provides a range of outdoor activities centered around Whitehall Pond. The pond features a swimming beach open during summer months, along with fishing opportunities and access for non-motorized boats such as canoes and kayaks. Adjacent to the beach is a reservable picnic pavilion equipped with eight picnic tables and a large charcoal grill, available for day use at $65 per day with checkout by 7:00 PM. Several hiking trails traverse the wooded 300-acre property, offering opportunities for nature walks and wildlife observation. The park charges parking fees of $8 for Massachusetts residents and $15 for non-residents. This is a day-use facility only; no overnight camping is available.
