Ashland State Park spans 470 acres of forest surrounding the 157-acre Ashland Reservoir in eastern Massachusetts, west of Boston. This day-use park is visited year-round by hikers enjoying the 3.5-mile trail that loops around the entire reservoir. During the operational season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the park offers swimming at a designated beach area, boating via a boat ramp, fishing, mountain biking, and picnicking at limited areas equipped with charcoal grills and tables. Restroom facilities are available on-site. The park is accessible to visitors with disabilities, including accessible trails, beach wheelchair availability, and accessible restrooms. Dogs are permitted on leash but not allowed on beaches from May 1 through September 15. Daily parking fees apply from late May through early September. During peak summer days, the park often reaches parking capacity and may temporarily close until spaces become available. Ashland State Park is a day-use facility only and does not offer camping or overnight stays. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations should look to other campgrounds in the region.
