This is a day-use facility with group picnic shelters only; no overnight camping is available. Shelters are open for reservations through Recreation.gov. On Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends, shelters are first-come, first-served.

AQAFFC The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division has issued a Code Orange (Unhealthy for sensitive groups) Air Quality Alert for Atlanta for Thursday July 2. Under Code Orange conditions, the outdoor air quality is likely to be unhealthy for some people. Children, people who are sensitive to ozone, and people with heart or lung disease should limit prolonged outdoor exertion during the late afternoon or early evening when ozone concentrations are highest. About
West Bank Park lies just north of Buford Dam on Lake Sidney Lanier, offering reservable group picnic shelters for day-use gatherings. The two shelter sites accommodate up to 70 people each and provide scenic lakefront views. The park includes a designated swim beach, basketball court, playground, and restroom facilities. Lake Lanier boasts 38,000 surface acres, 690 miles of shoreline, and over 100 small islands. Visitors can access the Laurel Ridge Hiking Trail, a 3.5-mile loop with views of the lake and Chattahoochee River. Fishing opportunities include bass, catfish, and panfish. Other activities include swimming, wakeboarding, and kayaking. Shelters require advance reservations through Recreation.gov except on Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends when they are first-come, first-served. Alcohol, pets, fireworks, trailers, and amplified music are prohibited. A day-use vehicle fee of $8 applies separately from shelter reservations.
Directions
From Georgia Highway 400, take exit 14 to Highway 20 east, turn left onto Sanders Road, at first stop sign turn right on Buford Dam Road. After crossing the dam, turn left at the sign for West Bank Park. From Interstate 85, take exit 111 and head north on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road approximately 10 miles to Buford Dam Road, turn left, then right at the Lanier Project Management Office sign.
