About
Keller Campground is a primitive camping area nestled within the backcountry of Mendocino National Forest in Glenn County. This free, no-reservation campground provides a basic but scenic camping experience for visitors looking to escape into the remote wilderness of Northern California's Coast Range. The campground features fire rings and picnic tables but lacks developed amenities. Campers must bring their own water and pack out all trash. A stream with a spring pipe is located approximately 2.6 miles east of the campground along the road for those who can treat water. Access is via Forest Highway 7, roughly 36 miles northwest of Elk Creek or 15 miles east of Eel River Station. The Mendocino National Forest was heavily impacted by the August Complex Fire in 2020, and road conditions can be challenging. High-clearance vehicles are recommended for backcountry forest roads.
Directions
From Elk Creek, travel approximately 36 miles northwest on Forest Highway 7. The campground is located about 15 miles east of Eel River Station. High-clearance vehicle recommended.
