About

Located just half a mile south of Bigfork on the northeast shore of Flathead Lake, Wayfarers Unit is a 67-acre unit of Flathead Lake State Park at 2,923 feet elevation. The campground features 30 sites nestled in a mature mixed forest of pine and fir, including one fully ADA accessible site and a shared hike-bike campsite with 9 tent pads that's convenient for cyclists on the Continental Divide route. The maximum RV and trailer length is 40 feet. The park's rocky shoreline and dramatic cliffs are popular with photographers, hikers, and swimmers, offering spectacular views of Flathead Lake. From spring through late fall, wildflowers abound throughout the area. The park provides flush toilets, vault toilets, showers, a boat launch, dock (typically usable mid-June through early September when lake levels are sufficient), RV dump station, and bear-resistant storage lockers. Day-use areas are open from 7 AM to 10 PM daily. Activities include camping, boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, wildlife viewing, and photography. The park is known for exceptional sunset views over Flathead Lake. Reservations are available through Montana State Parks' ReserveAmerica system.

Directions

From Bigfork, Montana, head south on MT Highway 35 for approximately 0.5 miles. The entrance to Wayfarers Unit of Flathead Lake State Park will be on your right.
