About

The Warm Fish Lake Shelter is an unmaintained three-sided shelter located in the remote wilderness of the Petersburg Ranger District within Tongass National Forest. This primitive structure provides basic overnight shelter for backcountry travelers, primarily those accessing the area for lake fishing opportunities. As an unmaintained facility, the shelter offers no amenities whatsoever. There is no potable water, no restroom facilities, and no maintained fire rings or picnic tables. Visitors must pack in all supplies including drinking water and pack out all trash. The shelter is typically accessed by floatplane or boat given its remote location on Warm Fish Lake. This shelter is best suited for experienced backcountry travelers who are prepared for primitive, self-sufficient wilderness camping in Alaska's temperate rainforest environment.
