Located along the dramatic Potomac River cliffs in Virginia's Northern Neck region, Westmoreland State Park's camping cabins offer a unique blend of rustic camping and basic shelter. The six camping cabins sit within the campground area, allowing guests to experience the outdoors while having protection from the elements. Each cabin features two sets of bunk beds with mattresses accommodating up to four people, a table with four chairs, electrical outlets, screened windows, and a locking door. Outside each cabin, guests will find a porch, picnic table, fire ring with cooking grate for campfire cooking, a lantern post, and an outdoor water spigot. Some cabins include pedestal charcoal grills and wooden rocking chairs on the porch. Since the cabins lack interior bathrooms or kitchen facilities, campers share the nearby ADA-accessible bathhouse which provides restrooms and hot showers. Guests must bring their own linens, sleeping bags, pillows, towels, cooler, cookware, and toiletries. The camping cabins typically operate from April 1 through mid-October, offering an affordable alternative to tent camping for those seeking shelter without the full amenities of the park's traditional housekeeping cabins.

Directions

Six miles northwest of Montross off Route 3. From Fredericksburg, take Route 3 east for about 40 miles, turn left onto Route 347 at the park entrance. From Richmond or Tidewater, take U.S. 360 East to Warsaw, then Route 3 west.
