About

Van Hook Resort sits on the Van Hook Arm of Lake Sakakawea, widely known as the walleye nursery of Sakakawea and one of North Dakota's premier fishing destinations. The resort offers over 110 campsites including 70 with electric hookups, non-electric RV sites, and primitive tent camping areas. Sites accommodate RVs with tow rigs and boats, though not all sites fit all RV sizes. The resort provides bathhouses with showers, a potable water kiosk, and a dump station. Recreational amenities include swimming beaches, basketball and volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, a pickleball court, cornhole, and two playgrounds with picnic pavilions. Anglers benefit from three boat ramps with ample parking, courtesy docks, an ADA boat loading ramp and lift, and fish cleaning stations. An on-site bait and tackle shop and convenience store with gas serve camper needs. Reservations are made through Campspot with a two-night minimum for advance bookings. Single-night drop-ins are available except on holiday weekends. Check-in is at 3pm and check-out by 1pm, with no Saturday check-ins or check-outs.
