About

The Fort Stevenson State Park Day Use area features two covered picnic shelters situated near deTrobriand Bay on the north shore of Lake Sakakawea. Each shelter includes six picnic tables and can accommodate up to 48 people, making them ideal for family gatherings, reunions, and group events. The shelters do not have electricity but offer a pleasant outdoor setting with nearby playground equipment for children. This day-use area provides convenient access to the park's recreational amenities including the swim beach, boat ramps, and marina facilities. Visitors can enjoy the park's trails, arboretum, and prairie dog town during their visit. However, overnight camping is not permitted in the day-use area. Those seeking overnight accommodations should reserve sites in the park's designated campground, which offers primitive, modern, and premium campsites with various hookup options.
