About

Upper Blue Campground provides a secluded, off-the-beaten-path camping experience in the scenic Blue River Valley within the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. The campground sits below striking high bluffs with streamside access to the Blue River. With only three campsites, two featuring distinctive Adirondack-style shelters, this is an ideal spot for campers seeking solitude and a true backcountry atmosphere. This is a primitive campground with minimal amenities. A single vault toilet is available, but there is no potable water on site, so campers must bring all the water they need. There is no trash service; all garbage must be packed out. Camping is free, and sites are first-come, first-served with a 14-day stay limit. Quiet hours are enforced after 10:00 pm. The campground is located 17 miles southeast of Alpine via US 180 and Forest Route 281. The remote access road and rustic setting make this campground best suited for tent camping and smaller camping setups rather than large RVs.
