About

Pueblo Park Campground is located at 6,167 feet elevation in a large, cool stand of old growth ponderosa pines adjacent to the northern edge of the Blue Range Wilderness boundary. The campground features approximately 10 sites available on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees required. Dangerous Park Trail #515 is accessible from the northern end of the campground, while the WS Mountain Trail #43 is immediately south of the campground entrance. The area offers extensive recreation opportunities including day hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, and gravel road cycling. The Pueblo Park Interpretive Loop Trail #5151 provides an accessible introduction to the area. Additional trailheads including Cottonwood and Hinkle Park are nearby. The Gila National Forest surrounding the campground is home to diverse wildlife and offers scenic mountain views with ponderosa pine and pinon-juniper forest. The campground is remote, located approximately 6 miles west of US Highway 180 on County Road C-013. Campers must bring their own water as none is available on-site. Stock animals are not allowed in the immediate campground area, though horseback riding is available from adjacent trailheads. OHV and ATV use, hunting, and shooting are prohibited in the campground. A 14-day stay limit applies.

Directions

From Glenwood, take US Highway 180 north 25 miles to the Pueblo Park turnoff between mile markers 25 and 26. Travel west 6 miles on County Road C-013. From Reserve, take NM Highway 12 west 6 miles to US Highway 180, then south 5 miles to the Pueblo Park turnoff, and west 6 miles on County Road C-013.
