Open for the 2026 season from May 22 through October 11. Reservations available up to 11 months in advance. Two-night minimum required for reservations made more than 7 days ahead; one-night stays permitted within 7 days of arrival. Due to limited parking capacity, carpooling is recommended.

Underhill State Park Campground is a primitive walk-in camping destination nestled on the western slopes of Mount Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak at 4,393 feet. Located within Mount Mansfield State Forest in Chittenden County, the campground offers a rustic experience with 18 total sites including tent sites, lean-tos, and a group camping area that accommodates up to 75 people. The lower camp area features flush toilets with running cold water but no showers, while the upper group area has pit toilets and composting outhouses. All camping is walk-in only, with wheelbarrows provided at the parking area to help transport gear. The campground operates on a pack-it-out trash policy. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. The park provides direct trail access to the summit of Mount Mansfield via scenic hiking routes. Due to limited parking capacity, carpooling is recommended. Day use hours are 10 am to sunset. The campground is not suitable for RVs or tent trailers.
