About
Twin Eagles Campground is a quiet, primitive campground located at 8,600 feet in the Pike National Forest near Tarryall Reservoir. The campground features nine campsites, some of which are walk-in or hike-in, making it ideal for tenters and those seeking a more secluded experience. Maximum trailer length is 22 feet. The campground is strictly first-come, first-served with no reservations accepted.
Facilities are basic: vault toilets, picnic tables at each site, and fire rings. There is no potable water available, and campers must pack out all trash. Bears are common in the area, so proper food storage is essential. Quiet hours are observed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The campground provides access to the Lost Creek Wilderness via the Twin Eagles Trailhead, which connects to the Brookside-McCurdy Trail. This makes it a popular basecamp for hikers exploring the wilderness area. The surrounding landscape features granite domes, forested slopes, and the characteristic terrain of Colorado's Front Range.
Directions
From Lake George, travel west on Highway 24 and turn right on County Road 77 toward Tarryall Reservoir. Travel about 14 miles north on County Road 77; the campground will be on your right.
