About

Badger Gulch is a dispersed camping area located in Pike National Forest's Badger Flats Management Area, approximately two miles northwest of Lake George in Park County. The area is accessed via a camping spur off County Road 31 and offers multiple designated dispersed camping sites throughout the Badger Flats trail network. The terrain features natural scenery with forest cover and scenic vistas at an elevation around 9,000 feet. Due to Forest Service Order 2021-12, camping in the Badger Flats Management Area is restricted to designated dispersed campsites marked by vertical posts with small white signs, or locations more than a quarter-mile from National Forest System roads. This regulation protects natural resources while still providing ample camping opportunities. The road accessing the area can be slightly rough but is generally accessible to most high-clearance vehicles and RVs.
