WHERE...Moffat, Routt, Jackson, Grand, Rio Blanco, Garfield, Eagle, Summit, Gilpin, Clear Creek, Mesa, Pitkin, Lake, Park, Delta, Gunnison, Chaffee, Montrose, Ouray, San Miguel, Dolores, and northern parts of Montezuma and Saguache Counties. Locations include, but are not limited to Craig, Steamboat Springs, Walden, Granby, Hot Sulphur Springs, Kremmling, Meeker, Rangely, Glenwood Springs, Eagle, Vail, Breckenridge, Central City, Georgetown, Grand Junction, Aspen, Leadville, Fairplay, Delta, Gunnison, Buena Vista, Salida, Montrose, Nucla, Ouray, Telluride, Dove Creek, and Saguache. O'Brien Gulch is a day-use picnic area situated within the Eleven Mile Canyon Recreation Area in Pike National Forest, Park County, Colorado. The canyon lies below the dam of Eleven Mile Reservoir along the South Platte River, offering scenic views and family-friendly recreation. As a picnic area, O'Brien Gulch is designated for day-use only. Overnight camping is not permitted at this location. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations should consider the four established campgrounds within the Eleven Mile Canyon Recreation Area: Cove, Riverside, Spillway, or Springer Gulch, all of which require reservations through Recreation.gov. The Eleven Mile Canyon Recreation Area charges a one-time vehicle entry fee of $11 per stay, or visitors can purchase an annual pass for $100. Dispersed camping is prohibited within the canyon. The area is managed by the South Park Ranger District of Pike-San Isabel National Forests.

Directions

From Lake George, Colorado, head west on County Road 96 into Eleven Mile Canyon. O'Brien Gulch is one of the designated picnic areas along the canyon road.
