About
Tuttle Creek Campground is situated in the Alabama Hills National Scenic Area, offering 83 individual campsites with stunning views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The campground features ten pull-through sites suitable for trailers and RVs up to 30 feet in length. Each site includes a picnic table, fire pit, and lantern holder, though no hookups are available. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations for individual sites.
The facility includes vault toilets throughout the campground and seasonally available potable water and dump station services. During winter months, water and dump station facilities are closed, so campers should come prepared with their own water supply. A group site accommodating up to 15 people is available for $30 per night with advance reservations, and two horse corrals can be reserved for $10 per night with weed-free hay required.
The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the Alabama Hills' unique rock formations, hiking trails, and climbing routes. Visitors can enjoy the area's distinctive landscape made famous by countless Western films while being just 5 miles from the town of Lone Pine for supplies and services. The stay limit is 14 consecutive days, not to exceed 28 days per calendar year across all Bishop Field Office campgrounds.
Directions
From Highway 395, drive 3.5 miles west of Lone Pine on Whitney Portal Road, then 1.5 miles south on Horseshoe Meadow Road and follow signs to the campground.
