Horseshoe Meadows Horse Camp

Closed

About

Horseshoe Meadow Equestrian Camp sits at 10,000 feet in the sub-alpine terrain of the Eastern Sierra, 24 miles southwest of Lone Pine via Horseshoe Meadow Road. The 10 drive-in sites are exclusively for stock users, with each site equipped with a single corral and hitch rail. The rolling meadow landscape and high elevation make this an ideal base for accessing backcountry wilderness areas. Facilities include vault toilets, potable water from a hand pump, picnic tables, and metal fire rings at each site. Bear-proof food lockers (48"x30"x36") are provided and mandatory. Wood gathering is prohibited, and firewood must be brought in. Stock is limited to 4 head per site. The campground provides direct access to Cottonwood Pass, Cottonwood Lakes, and Trail Pass trailheads, which lead into the Golden Trout Wilderness, John Muir Wilderness, and Sequoia National Park. There is no cell service at this location. Dogs must be leashed in the campground.
