Diaz Lake Campground is a scenic Inyo County-operated facility located three miles south of Lone Pine, California, along Highway 395. Situated on the shores of an 80-acre lake, the campground provides 100 camping spaces suitable for large RVs and offers both reservable and first-come, first-served sites through ReserveAmerica. The campground accommodates six people per site, with group sites available that hold 15 people. The lake is a popular destination for water-based recreation including swimming, fishing, water skiing, and boating. Motorized boats are permitted on the lake from mid-May through October, while kayaks, canoes, and other non-motorized watercraft are allowed year-round. Shore fishing is permitted throughout the year with a valid California fishing license required for those 16 and older. An ADA-accessible fishing deck is located near the boat launch ramp. Campground amenities include vault toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, grills, and limited water spigots throughout the facility. The campground does not offer hookups or shower facilities. ATV riding is prohibited within the campground, but trails are accessible through the back gate. The lake has also recently added a playground and volleyball court for recreational use.
