About

Diaz Lake Campground is an Inyo County park situated on the shore of 80-acre Diaz Lake, three miles south of Lone Pine along US Highway 395. The campground features 100 campsites spread across lakeside and shaded grove areas, including three group sites (44, 45, and 46) that accommodate up to 15 people each. Standard sites allow a maximum of six people. Amenities include vault toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, grills, and limited water spigots throughout the facility. No showers, hookups, or dump station are available on site. The lake supports year-round shore fishing with a California fishing license required for visitors 16 and older. Non-motorized watercraft such as kayaks and canoes are permitted year-round, while motorized boating operates seasonally. An ADA-accessible fishing deck is located near the boat launch ramp. Swimming, water skiing, and picnicking are popular activities. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the nearby Alabama Hills and accessing Mt. Whitney Portal. Reservations are available through ReserveAmerica, though first-come, first-served sites are also offered. Camping stays are limited to 15 days at any one campground within a six-week period. ATVs and off-road vehicles are prohibited within the campground. Pets are welcome but must be leashed and current on rabies vaccination.
